Artistic Advisory Panel

In October 2023, Artistic Director Eric Nathan appointed an Artistic Advisory Panel of distinguished composers and performers: Tony Arnold, Matthew Aucoin, Marcos Balter, Anthony Cheung, Tania León, and Joan Tower.

The panel advises on programming that sustains the ensemble's musical excellence, its impact, and its commitment to supporting a diverse range of voices. From the beginning, the panel was conceived as a working body: each member is engaged in artistic collaboration with Collage, on stage and in the repertoire.

Tony Arnold has served as Collage's inaugural Artistic Partner across three seasons, performing Eric Nathan's Some Favored Nook and music by Bernard Rands, Christopher Trapani, Inga Chinilina, and Eric Chasalow, and Kurtág's Scenes from a Novel in 2026–27. She premieres a new work by Peter Child in 2027–28.

Joan Tower was the subject of a portrait concert at Collage's 2025 Gala. Collage reprises her Into the Night on the 2026–27 season opener and at Williams College in November 2026.

Marcos Balter's We Carry Our Homes Within Us, Which Enables Us to Fly was performed in April 2025 with soprano Tony Arnold and a vocal ensemble of Longy School of Music students, as part of Collage's partnership with the Longy School of Music. Balter was the subject of a portrait concert at Collage's 2026 Gala.

Anthony Cheung's Clocks for Seeing was performed in the 2025–26 season. Cheung also led a composition masterclass for Project STEP students in fall 2025.

Tania León will be the subject of a portrait concert at Collage's 2027 Gala.
