Collage New Music Appoints Dr. Ciyadh Wells as New General Manager
Ciyadh Wells
Boston, MA — Collage New Music is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Ciyadh Wells as its new General Manager, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Wells was selected following a highly competitive national search and brings a wealth of experience as an artist, administrator, and advocate for inclusive and community-centered music-making.
“The Board and I are thrilled to have Ciyadh joining our team at Collage,” said Artistic Director Eric Nathan. “We have been incredibly impressed by her record of achievement in arts administration, her deep commitment to new music, and her vision for the future. We look forward to working with her as we embark on a dynamic new chapter of expansion and growth for Collage.”
A classical guitarist, scholar, and activist, Dr. Wells brings a multifaceted perspective to her work. She is deeply committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts and believes passionately in the transformative power of music to build community and inspire change. In addition to her new role at Collage, she currently serves as Executive Director of Castle of Our Skins, a Boston-based concert and education series dedicated to celebrating Black artistry through music.
"I am incredibly excited to be the next General Manager at Collage New Music” said Dr. Wells, “and to continue growing the legacy of creating new music across New England."
As General Manager, Dr. Wells will oversee the administrative functions of the organization, working closely with Artistic Director Eric Nathan, the Board of Trustees, and the ensemble’s musicians as Collage plans and implements its concert season, outreach initiatives, and strategic growth.
Dr. Wells succeeds Jim Connolly, who will step down at the end of June. “All of us at Collage thank Jim for his steadfast dedication and invaluable work behind the scenes,” Nathan added. “We are grateful to have had Jim on our team during an important transitional moment in Collage's history."
Founded in 1972, Collage New Music is dedicated to commissioning, performing, and recording the vibrantly diverse voices of today’s composers.
