Craig McNutt, percussion
Craig Mcnutt is Principal Timpanist
of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Emmanuel
Music in Boston. He has performed with the Boston
Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops Orchestra, Pro Arte
Chamber Orchestra, the Boston Modern Orchestra Project,
the Cantata Singers and Ensemble, the New Hampshire
Symphony, and the contemporary music ensembles Boston
Musica Viva, Collage New Music, and Alea III. Mr.
McNutt has twice been a fellow at the Tanglewood Music
Center and has performed as a soloist at the Newport
Music Festival. He has recorded for Koch Classics,
CRI, Opus One, and Crystal Records. He was the Principal
Percussionist in the Peter Sellars/Craig Smith production
of Kurt Weill/J.S. Bach: Conversations Between Fear
and Hope After Death, which was performed in Paris
and Frankfurt. Mr. McNutt holds degrees from the Hartt
School of Music and Yale University, and is completing
studies for a Doctor of Musical Arts at the New England
Conservatory of Music.
